Custom Website Development

The 270net Web Site Packages are the most cost-effective way to get a professional, functional web site presence.  However, in some cases client requirements exceed what can be accomplished within a package site.

270net Technologies has extensive experience developing custom web sites featuring advanced graphics and high-end data-driven functionality.

Examples of advanced web sites:

270net Technologies builds advanced web sites using our exclusive six-step process, which ensures that your web site is the right size, has the right functionality, and doesn't cost a dime more than it should.

270net Technologies Six-Step Process for Web Development

1. Initial Consultation
Our first step is to talk with you.  At no cost, we travel to your location (or you can come to ours if you like) and discuss the basics of your web site. Our goal is to understand the basic scope of the web site (small, medium, big), what kind of functionality will be needed (e-commerce, database connectivity, form processing, etc.), and where the content will come from.  In addition to getting to know you and your company, we learn what we need to know to submit an accurate, cost-effective proposal.

2. Proposal
Again at no cost, we prepare and submit a detailed, fixed-price proposal. The cost is based on our estimate of the hours it will take to build a web site that will exceed your expectations.  It includes all four of the following elements: Scoping Meeting, Concept Development, Prototype Development, and Site Completion. We are available to answer any questions you have about the proposal and will modify it as necessary to incorporate new information.

3. Scoping Meeting
The very first step after you accept our proposal, before we even touch a keyboard, is - you guessed it - we get together and talk.  The purpose of this meeting is to identify preferences for site design (logos, colors, other sites you like, etc.) and determine specific functionality required to make sure that your site meets its strategic objectives.  If you don't have strategic objectives for the web site, this is a good time to identify them and we'll help you do it.  At the end of this meeting, we typically have a very good understanding what the site is expected to do (both functionally and strategically) and enough information to draw a detailed site map.

4. Concept Development and Approval
Based on the information from the Scoping Meeting, we'll develop 1-3 concepts for your web site.  These are static images (not working html, usually a jpg image) that show different color schemes, design layouts, animation, and navigation styles.  Again, we get together so we can talk about them and give you our ideas behind the concepts.  You can pick one you like or combine elements from multiple concepts to arrive at the desired look and feel.  You can also make changes to the concepts - we typically allow for three revision cycles.  After this meeting, we provide concept revisions (again, up to three) until we have your approval on the final concept.

5. Prototype Development
The next step is to make a working web site.  We convert the concept into html and build the pages.  The result is a web site with all pages, navigation and animation functional.  The level of content completion at this point depends on how much of it has been received and all database functionality may not be complete.  But the basic site is essentially complete and we again sit down and go over it with you.  We show you the site, review its status, pick up any last minute adjustments, and we're off to finish the site.

6. Site Completion
By this time, there are no surprises. We've met, looked, and talked enough about the web site so that everyone knows what the final product will be.  We finish the site, meet again to get your final approval and arrange for transfer of the site to the hosting provider.  If we had already agreed that 270net Technologies would host the site (more about hosting), it's an extremely simple matter because by now we've already taken care of all the domain and email stuff. Your site will probably be up and running the same day you give it the final approval.
